 | | | About UsIt all began with slate and its infinite variations of color and raw beauty, shop tools, and an artist who wanted to create something "flowing" that would blend with the surrounding elements of nature for a contemporary house in the woods. | That first outdoor mural danced with patterns of filtered sunlight through the trees; a gentle movement of shadows on a stage of natural slate. The artist began creating new projects with a variety of natural materials, including cedar ordered from local sawmills.
Slate, glass block, and cedar were fused into new creations, including indoor slate murals, lighting towers, furniture -- and eventually, the first Water Wall. Originally designed to screen off a room as a double-sided Water Wall, it became the focal point to which people gravitated for a moment of tranquility in a hectic day. The sound of trickling water over beautifully colored slate can mesmerize and infuse calm serenity.
And the artist's wife was happy with the house that "flowed" with the beauty of nature, both inside and out, in the middle of the woods.
